LifeWords Journal: March 1, 2018

INSPIRATIONS:  We have a new feature to introduce you to this month!  Kristen will be joining us with a series on Art and Artists.  This will be a wonderful thing to enjoy with your entire family.   From the Living Art area, we’ll learn about Brahms and the quality of modesty as Terri and Sally discuss his life and compositions during the Romantic Period. In Living Books, Holly continues our author study this month by introducing us to Beatrix Potter.  We hope you enjoy the inspiring stories she shares about the life of Beatrix and reading from the book recommendations with your family. From the Bible for Life area, Sally continues her reflections from Hebrews sharing about heroes of the faith and the story of Paul, Philemon, and Onesimus.  We hope you are encouraged in your relationships after hearing how God worked in the lives of Philemon and Onesimus. Finally, you can celebrate St. Patrick's Day with your family and friends this month with Brandee's recipe for "Not so Irish Soda Bread." She walks you through the process of making this delicious bread with a video tutorial!  We have enjoyed Brandee's amazing creations, and you will love this one too!

LEGACY: In this inspiring talk about Home, Sally reminds us of some practical ways to inspire our children through the atmosphere and details of our homes as well as what it means to be a life-giver.

MORE LIFE: You don't want to miss Sally's 10 Gifts of Heart Podcast series in the Resources area.  These are all of the 10 Gifts of Wisdom talks with Kristen,  gathered together in one place for you.  We have also created some printables to help you practically share these gifts with your children.

Forum: We’re excited to announce that a member forum is coming- we are busy testing and debugging and getting it ready for you- any day now! We’re calling it the Life With Sally Forum, a place just for members to create lines of connection with other lifegiving women from all over the world and discuss what you’re learning on Life with Sally.

Storytime: Keep an eye on Family Storytime in the Resources section. Clay will be trying his hand (and voice) at selected readings from books out of the Clarkson’s legacy of library of 500 or so antiquarian books from 1860-1920. Once he gets past the inertia of learning how to live in the UK this spring, this will become an ongoing project for Life with Sally.

Coming Soon!: And, of course, the truest announcement of “inside life” is Sarah’s first baby (and Sally and Clay’s first grandchild) due early in March. Sally is already in the UK for the “welcome to the world” celebration, and to help her precious firstborn with her own firstborn. Clay will join them later in March. Keep them all in your prayers as Sally makes this transition to becoming a grandmother while also leading three conferences there this Spring.

In the coming months, you’ll hear from Clay and Sally about their newest book with Tyndale, The Lifegiving Parent, which officially releases on May 1. We’ll continue to learn from Holly, Jaime, and Terri about composers and authors, including Louisa May Alcott, James Herriot, Mendelssohn, and Williams. Sally will be sharing about “Giving Peace through Discipleship.”  Kristen will dive into the new series on visual art and artists which you can experience alongside your children.

We are so excited to be joining Sally and Jacqui in England for the Mum Heart UK conference this month! It will be a trip of a lifetime for both of us to see and experience some of the places we've learned about through Sally and Storyformed, as well as the privilege of meeting and serving the UK Mum Heart women.  Please join us in praying for all of the mums who will be attending the conference: for them to be encouraged and inspired through our time together!  We look forward to keeping you plugged into all the life that will be happening on Life with Sally.

Living in His life,

Gretchen and Jennie
