Awaking Wonder Unit: Thornton Burgess

This month, we are going to read through the books written by conservationist Thornton Burgess. In the early 1900s, Burgess wrote many stories about woodland animals and other creatures in the natural world. His books are humorous and brief, and that makes them approachable to a family wanting to start read alouds or to a new reader. These fun stores are a great way for fathers to get involved in read aloud time, too. Alongside the animal stories, we will study a couple of Psalms and sing hymns that praise God for the creation he made.
